When the Soul Is Too Tired to Believe

A Believe Again Gathering by Evie Matters

Safe Exhale is a curated gathering designed for young adults who are spiritually exhausted, church-wounded, or quietly searching for the Father again — without pressure, performance, or religious heaviness.

Our core idea is that this is not an event to recruit people back into church culture.
It’s an invitation to return to yourself, your faith, and your hope.

Safe Exhale exists to create a safe space for honest healing conversations — without attacking the church, burning bridges, or demanding certainty.

LANGUAGE WE LEAD WITH

Permission over performance.
Presence over pressure.
Healing over hierarchy.
Journey over judgment.

“You’re not broken for questioning.”
“Faith can exist without certainty.”
“the Lord is not offended by your honesty.”

Ages 18–30

For those who are:

  • spiritually fatigued, disillusioned, or curious
  • healing from church hurt, shame, or leadership wounds
  • still open to the Lord, but tired of performance-based faith
  • searching for a healthier way to rebuild hope

Common phrase:

“I love God… but I hate church.”

WHAT SAFE EXHALE IS (AND IS NOT)

Safe Exhale is NOT:
Anti-church

• a rebellion movement

• a membership funnel

• a replacement pastor

Safe Exhale IS:
A faith-centered bridge • a healing space • a safe voice in the wilderness • a doorway back to God for those who didn’t feel safe in church spaces

EVENT EXPERIENCE (2–2.5 HOURS)

We are an atmosphere-first environment (coffee/mocktails, relaxed seating, reflective music)

“This isn’t church and there’s nothing to join. Just space to breathe.”

Worship reimagined (potential reflective songs / spoken word / instrumental moments)

Guided discussion + journaling prompts

Optional conversation (no forced sharing)

Closing invitation without pressure or manipulation
